Church of the Redeemer is part of the Charismatic Episcopal Church, a global communion of local congregations.
We are men and women of faith, disciples of Jesus Christ gathered from diverse backgrounds, seeking an expression of the church that is sacramental, evangelical and Spirit-expectant.
We are committed to advancing the kingdom of Heaven by proclaiming the Gospel to the least, the lost, and the lonely.
Our communion is submitted to the authority of Holy Scripture as interpreted by the continuing witness of the undivided church.
Our worship is ancient and contemporary, holy and joyful. If you attend our services you might find us similar in some ways, and different in others, than churches you have attended. Although there are many kinds of churches they often fall into three major practices—or streams—of worship:
Liturgical…..Emphasis on the Sacraments
Evangelical…..Emphasis on the Bible
Charismatic…..Emphasis on the Spirit

Church of the Redeemer invites you to experience our unique form of worship. Following the ancient pattern of the early church we seek to provide an atmosphere in which the best expressions, or streams, of the Christian faith flow together in one mighty river.
Sacramental
The early Church celebrated its faith in the rich context of a sacramental liturgy. The word liturgy actually means "the work of the people". It is the form of worship which was prescribed by Christ and His Apostles and was handed down to us through the ages. Central to all Christian worship is the sacrament of the altar, Holy Communion. The Eucharist, as it is also called, is the high point of our worship experience. It is here that we commune with God and with one another.
We believe that the traditional liturgical format (virtually unchanged from the days of the Apostles) provides the ancient means by which we can express and experience the reverence, majesty, and splendor of God the Father in worship. We recognize the doctrines and traditions which were delivered to the Apostles by Christ Himself and we seek to be faithful to the Apostles' Teaching.
Evangelical
We affirm the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God. The Bible is the ultimate authority in matters of faith and morals. With the Holy Tradition of the Church to guide us we seek to interpret the Scriptures in a faithful and traditional manner. We also affirm the historic Creeds of the early church.
In addition to our high view of the Bible we receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior in order to be reconciled to God the Father and to gain eternal life.
Charismatic
In the New Testament and the writings of the early Church we find that the gifts of the Holy Spirit were, and therefore should be, normative in the worship of Almighty God. We believe the Holy Spirit still transforms lives and moves in power today. We affirm the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and allow for spontaneity and joyful celebration. We strive to rekindle the gifts of God and not to hinder the Holy Spirit.
In short our service of worship seeks to be rooted in the ancient but also to build for the future. We seek to give ourselves to God in worship. Our service strives to be "Christ centered". We reverently approach God in every aspect of our worship. We invite you to join us in this glorious experience of worship and praise.
The Charismatic Episcopal Church
The Charismatic Episcopal Church (CEC) was formed in 1993 when three independent, charismatic churches joined together to explore the ancient liturgical and sacramental aspects of the faith. Virtually overnight this small movement grew into a worldwide communion. The CEC has been blessed with a valid line of Apostolic Succession dating back to Christ and His Apostles. WHO WE ARE
We desire for a manifestation
of the gifts of the Spirit:
1 Corinthians 12:7-11 says there are gifts of wisdom, words of
knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning spirits, tongues and
interpretations and we want them all!
We engage in enthusiastic worship:
We lift our hands, we dance, we kneel . . . sometimes we even lay face down on
the ground. We shout, we cry, we share words in languages other than English.
1 Corinthians 14:14-15 says it’s okay to sometimes pray and sing in tongues
and also to pray and sing “with understanding” in our own language.
We are hungry for God:
It is a priority in our lives to read, study and meditate on the Word of
God, the Bible, which Psalm 119:162 calls a “great treasure.”
We share our faith:
We have power by the Spirit of God to go to the ends of the earth and tell
others about the joy available in Christ (Acts 1:8).
We are driven by Love:
Romans 13:10 “Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the
fulfillment of the law.”
